K S HEGDE MEDICAL ACADEMY
Established in 1999, K.S. Hegde Medical Academy (KSHEMA) became a constituent Nitte University in 2009. The Institution is named after its founder, the visionary, Late Justice K S Hegde, former Justice of the Supreme Court of India and former Speaker of the Lok Sabha.
The Institution has made rapid progress towards being recognized as a medical school with high academic standards delivering quality health care with an emphasis on promoting social responsibility in its students. The Institution offers MBBS and MD/MS programs recognized by the Medical Council of India. It also offers B.Sc courses in Medical Imaging Technology and Operation Theatre Technology. Justice K.S. Hegde Charitable Hospital, the 1000 bed teaching hospital attached to the Institution provides all levels of holistic health care including major super-speciality services and provides excellent training opportunities to the students of the Academy.
